Prep: 10 minutes
Set Time: 8 hours
Serves: 2 people
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons chia seeds
- 2 tablespoon flaxseeds
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup
- ΒΌ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 25g of pitted prune finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons of lemon juice
- 300 millilitres unsweetened almond or oat milk
Optional
- 2 kiwifruit peeled and diced
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice

Directions
Whisk the chia, flax, cinnamon, vanilla essence and milk. Let rest for 10 minutes, then stir again to incorporate. Pour into two cups and refrigerate overnight. In the morning fold in the prunes, kiwifruit and lemon juice. Add a splash of more milk if the mixture is too thick and sweeten with maple syrup if desired. Nuts can also be sprinkled on top.
Why it Works
Prunes provide sorbitol and fibre that soften stool. Kiwifruit has been shown in studies to improve bowel regularity. Chia and flax absorb water to create a gel that supports gentle bowel movements.
